Every website builder has a free tier, and for a roofing company the free tier is almost never the thing you end up using. That is not a scandal. It is how the pricing is designed to work. What matters is knowing which bill arrives when, so you are choosing it rather than discovering it.
What the free tier actually gives you
The free plans differ in detail and agree on the important parts. You get a working site on their address rather than yours, usually something like yourbusiness.theirplatform.com. You get their badge somewhere on the page. You often cannot connect a domain you own, and on some platforms you cannot take payments or use the better templates.
The address is the one that costs you most, and it costs you quietly. It goes on the van, on the flyer, on the invoice. Two years later, when you want your own domain, everything printed is pointing at a page you are about to turn off, and the reviews and links that page has collected stay with the platform.
