Somebody has probably told you your roofing company needs a blog. We write one, so we are hardly neutral, and the honest answer is still: most roofing companies should not have one.
Here is when it is worth it, when it is not, and what to do instead if the answer is no.
Why most trade blogs make things worse
Walk through any set of contractor websites and you find the same thing: a blog with four posts, the newest from three years ago, titled something like Five Tips For Winter Roof Care. It was somebody's plan once.
That does real damage, and not the kind people expect. It is not that search engines punish you. It is that a visitor checking whether you are still trading sees a date from three years ago and quietly wonders. A blog is the only part of a website that visibly rots.
